The Budget

1. A government can run without a budget
2. A Budget takes more from 8 months to prepare when facts are known. But, in this instance we are faced with a Trade war,
Economic uncertainty, threats of annexing Canada and major changes wanted by the people that elected the government.
3. The order for a new government is make a cabinet, do throne speach to define direction of the government and
do an financial assessment then build the budget which is usually done for a march release.
4. The conservative Stephan Harper government didn't do a budget for 9 months after their delayed financial
statement. During the election the Poilievre conservatives cryed that carney didn't release a spending plan
immediately upon starting the election. Carney did provide a plan a week before the vote and the conservatives
gave their poor excuse of a plan a day before the vote.
5. So what are the issues
a) Border Tariffs over fentenyl
b) Oil and gas and energy Tariffs
c) Steel and Aluminum Tariffs
d) Wood and lumber Tariffs
e) Auto Industry Tariffs
f) First time home buyers can't get in the market
g) Municipalities faced with high homeless rates
h) Cost of living
i) High Taxes hurting low income workers
j) Job security and high unemployment
k) Layoffs and facility shutdowns
l) Inter provincial trade barriers
m) Imagration
n) Lack of doctors, nurses, skilled trades
o) inter-provincial trade certifications
p) Raise the defence spending to 2% of GDP
q) Enhance border security
r) build northern bases
s) increase the armed forces enlistment
t) Replace tanks, trucks, weapons, fighter aircraft, subs, warships
u) Deal with western alienation and Alberta separation
v) Build west to east energy coridor
w) Remove consumer carbon levy
x) redo or rework Industrial carbon levy
y) Build new trading partners
z) Develop resource extraction
That is a huge list for any government to be faced with. It is missing crime issues, gun and drug crimes, and
probably others. Items a) to e) are a big unknown because they keep changing daily. Items f) to k) are
important to the people and due to the nature require capital investment. Items l) to o) are key to country
stability. Items p) to t) have been deglected or in the case of conservative governments were actively
reduced. These are the most damaging to our sovereignty. Items u) to x) affect becoming an energy powerhouse,
climate change commitments, developing new markets, and could destroy our sovereignty as a nation.
Items y) and z) enhance our indepedance from the USA.

These are NOT normal times. PM Carney did the election using a trimed down War cabinet. People and especially
News reporters and conservatives need to realise WE ARE AT WAR and Trump has essentially declared war on the whole
free world. Drastic times call for drastic measures
.
PM Carney taking office already did item w) the consumer carbon levy removal. Before even taking office he met
with foreign governments to open doors to talks on item y) Build new trading partners.

In contrast what did Poilievre campaign on? Well he said he would negociate a new NAFTA aggreement and order
Tariffs off during negociation. He would give GST off on f) first time buyers, cut spending, eliminate the CBC,
cut advisors & consultants and turn the building into low cost housing. r) Build a northern base.
v) build nation wide pipelines and vaguely improve the economy.

For the last 4.5 months I have listened to the news stories heard the mostly conservative comentators and so
called analysts. Frankly they are the precise reason Canada is in the state that it is. The out going Liberal
leader took steps to open doors on Canada's behalf. Carney won the leadership of the Liberals with 85% of
caucus vote. He knows managing a crisis, he knows finance, he went on to win an almost majority with 170/172 seats
and in just 17 days as PM has accomplished more for all Canadians than Poilievre has done in 25 years as a politicion.
He has done more to unite Canadians than ever seen before so cut him some slack and shut up if you can't be more supportive.
