Native-Issue

First Nations,Meate and Inuit

Canada is a vast land. Settlers came to this land as colonies under British and French rule. The French colony
took the name Quebec and when Britain developed the BNA act to govern this new land in 1867 it called
it Canada. Canada would consist of 3 Territories (Yk, NWT, NV) under signed treaty rule and 4 provinces (On,QC,NB,NS).
In 1870 the colony called Britsh Columbia asked to join Canada and in 1871 the colony called Manitoba
issued the Manitoba Act to formally join Canada. Settlers with-in the NWT made two petitions for
Provincial style status under the names Alberta, and Saskatchewan. The treaties were ammended to grant
the two regions to be managed like provinces but to remain districts of the NWT owned by the First Nations
but sharing the land with Canada. Then in 1949 Labrador and Newfoundland joined and formally became a single
province in 2001. PEI was the last to join.

The formation of Canada is through treaty with the 3 indiginous peoples to share the land and resources
with the colonies that founded Canada and or joined Canada.

Indiginous Beliefs

The indiginous people are very much respectfull of the land they walk and the nature they encounter in each
respect. They live in harmony with nature. At times this causes clashes with western cultures that
are based upon consumption. Methods are in place at the Federal level to resolve disputes over
land use and encrouchments on their land by people of Canada in the respective provinces and
territories.

Religious indifference

There are many religeons in this world. Most are based upon one supreme creator that made all
things. The indiginous explain their environment more from a spirited reflection of respect.
This coupled with a difference in langiage prompted the catholic church to perform an indecency
with residential schools and brutal disapline sometimes causing death. The objective was to abolish
the language and culture of the indiginous. We finally know this was wrong and have embarked on a
truth and reconcilliation with the indiginous. In recent years a move is on to find unmarked graves
and recover the missing children.

Native lands

Canada has a huge number of First Nation tribes that
share their land with Canada by treaties. So when we
want to talk pipelines, powerlines, roads, railways
that are desired to cross native lands they must be in
all negotiations.

Far too often developers and provinces do not consult
with First nations or offer them a stake in employment
or profits from the venture. In addition, potential risks
from noise, splills, etc. are not addressed.

Since it is the Federal government that must deal with the indiginous people to attain mutually benificial
agreements, a partnership between indiginous leaders and project based planners is required.

Resource Partnerships.

Access Partnerships

Alberta separation

Alberta and Saskatchuwan were derived from the NWT
by treaties with the First Nations who agreed to
share their land with Canada as long as their rights
are respected. Under treaty, the federal government
handles all dealings with them. The Premier is an
appointed manager of the defined province.

The people of the province can elect the manager and
staff through parliamentary rule. The manager is
responcible for land management and the resources
under it. The sky above belongs to the planet and is
managed by the Canadian government through CTA,
Transport Canada and the ECCC such that enviromental
concerns are not compromised.

The province can not separate because it is owned by
the First Nations and only shared with the defined
province.
